Course Title
HAZWOPER 40-Hour Site Worker

Course Description 
If your responsibilities require you to work within a hazardous waste site, OSHA requires you to be familiar with methods and procedures to protect yourself and others from the safety and health risks of hazardous materials. This course provides an opportunity for hands-on skills development and is designed to meet OSHA’s training requirements for the HAZWOPER standard 29 CFR 1910.120 paragraphs (b) through (o) for hazardous waste site workers. Minimum student contact hours: 40

This course is designed for environmental contractors and consultants, regulatory agency personnel, private-sector project managers routinely involved in the investigation and remediation of uncontrolled hazardous waste sites including Superfund sites, RCRA corrective action sites or voluntary clean-up sites. Please note that this course is designed for hazardous waste site workers and NOT for emergency response personnel.

Prerequisites
  • None

Course Objectives 
Participants will learn how to: 
  • Identify and practice methods and procedures for recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazardous substances.
  • Identify concepts, principles, and guidelines to properly protect personnel and the surrounding environment.
  • Select and use appropriate protective equipment including respirators, protective suits, boots and gloves

  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes early on the first day of class to check in and pick up your course materials.
  • Parking validations will be provided each day.
  • Lunch is on your own.
