Course Title
OSHA #7505 Introduction to Incident (Accident) Investigation


Course Description 
This course covers an introduction to basic accident investigation procedures and describes accident analysis techniques. Course topics include reasons for conducting accident investigations, employer responsibilities related to workplace accident investigations, and a six step accident investigation procedure. The target audience is the employer, manager, employee or employee representative who is involved in conducting accident and/or near-miss investigations.

Course Objectives
Upon course completion, students will have the basic skills necessary to conduct an effective accident investigation at the workplace. Minimum student contact hours: 14

Course Materials and Required Software Applications
Participants will need to attend the course from either a home or office on a computer or laptop equipped with a Webcam and Microphone. Participants will need to have a stable Internet connection, and use either Chrome, Firefox or Safari as their browser for compatibility with Canvas.

Please read:  The virtual course will consist of live-online Zoom sessions, as well as pre and post session activities in Canvas, our online learning management system. Participants will need to attend the course from either a home or office on a computer or laptop equipped with a Webcam and Microphone. You must attend 100% of all Zoom sessions and complete all required online course assignments in order to receive an electronic certificate of completion and CEUs. Students will need to keep their Video On throughout the class to confirm attendance and participation in the course. Attending the course on an I-Phone, tablet or iPad is not allowed. You will need to have a stable Internet connection, and use either Chrome, Firefox or Safari as your browser for compatibility with Canvas. Use of multiple devices, taking photos or recording any part of the training sessions is not allowed. Participants will need to attend a short orientation session prior to the start of the course. During this time, we’ll ensure that your laptop or computer, webcam and audio are functioning properly. We’ll also introduce you to Canvas and explain how to navigate and find all required training materials and coursework assignments.
