« back to classes page
It is understood that vicarious trauma is an occupational hazard that often leads to lack of job satisfaction, job productivity, and negative outcomes for both workers and agencies. Mental Health Professionals are at increased risk for vicarious trauma and yet the impact of exposures is often not recognized. In this session, participants will gain understanding of the symptoms and impacts of vicarious trauma.  Further participants will learn critical skills in prevention and selfcare. The role and responsivity for agencies to prevent and respond will be explored.
