Course Title
OSHA #3095 Electrical Standards

Course Description 
This course covers OSHA Electrical Standards and the hazards associated with electrical installations and equipment. Course topics include single-and three-phase systems, cord-and plug-connected and fixed equipment, grounding, ground fault circuit interrupters and safety-related work practices. Emphasis is placed on electrical hazard recognition and OSHA Standards, policies, and procedures and applicable portions of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Students will participate in workshops on the safe and correct use of electrical testing equipment.

Course Objectives 
Upon course completion students will have the ability to understand the severity of electrical current on the human body, recognize and evaluate actual and potential electrical hazards and reference the applicable OSHA Standard. Students will also know how to determine hazard abatement measures and will understand the proper use of electrical testing equipment. Minimum student contact hours: 26

Please read:  The virtual course will consist of live-online Zoom sessions, as well as pre and post session activities in Canvas, our online learning management system. Participation in this virtual OSHA numbered course is limited to participants working or living within the Great Lakes Region 5 (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota). A federal, state, or local government issued photo ID (present at check-in on the first day of class). Participants will need to attend the course from either a home or office on a computer or laptop equipped with a Webcam and Microphone. You must attend 100% of all Zoom sessions and complete all required online course assignments in order to receive an electronic certificate of completion and CEUs. Students will need to keep their Video On throughout the class to confirm attendance and participation in the course. Attending the course on an I-Phone, tablet or iPad is not allowed. You will need to have a stable Internet connection, and use either Chrome, Firefox or Safari as your browser for compatibility with Canvas. Use of multiple devices, taking photos or recording any part of the training sessions is not allowed. Participants will need to attend a short orientation session prior to the start of the course. During this time, we’ll ensure that your laptop or computer, webcam and audio are functioning properly. We’ll also introduce you to Canvas and explain how to navigate and find all required training materials and coursework assignments.
