Course Title
OSHA #7120 Introduction to Combustible Dust Hazards


Course Description
This course covers the hazards posed by combustible dust within general industry. Course topics include recognizing the hazards and risks associated with combustible dust, control of electrical installation hazards, and developing controls and strategies to prevent or mitigate combustible dust fires and explosions. Upon course completion the student will have the ability to utilize strategies that assure employee safety while using or producing materials that generate combustible dust and the ability to use OSHA Standards, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards, and other applicable consensus standards that impact industries which generate combustible dust.

Participants will need to attend the course from either a home or office on a computer or laptop equipped with a Webcam and Microphone. Participants will need to have a stable Internet connection, and use either Chrome, Firefox or Safari as their browser for compatibility with Canvas.

Please read:  This virtual course consists of live-online Zoom sessions, as well as pre- and post-session activities in Canvas, our online learning management system. Participation in this virtual OSHA numbered course is limited to participants working or living within the Chicago Region (formerly Great Lakes Region 5) - Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. A federal, state, or local government issued photo ID must be presented at check-in on the first day of class. Participants will need to attend the course from either a home or office on a computer or laptop equipped with a webcam and microphone. You must attend 100% of all Zoom sessions and complete all required online course assignments in order to receive an electronic certificate of completion and CEUs. Students will need to keep their video on throughout the class to confirm attendance and participation. Attending the course on an I-Phone, tablet or iPad is not allowed. You will need to have a stable Internet connection, and use either Chrome, Firefox or Safari as your browser for compatibility with Canvas. Use of multiple devices, taking photos or recording any part of the training sessions is not allowed. Approximately one week prior to the start date of the course, a reminder email with a short orientation video and instructions for course access will be sent to you via email.
