OSHA and Infection Control Made Easy for Healthcare Facilities

This course has a target audience of dentists, physicians, PA’s, dental hygientists, dental assistants, nurses, podiatrists, chiropractors, phlebotomists, ambulance services and all members of the healthcare team. The course is designed to meet the training requirements of OSHA in healthcare facilities. Topics include hazard communication, bloodborne pathogens, electrical safety, ionizing radiation, fire safety, means of egress, recordkeeping and OSHA inspection.  In addition, the course covers Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for infection control in healthcare facilities.
  • Fulfill OSHA’s annual training requirements
  • Develop skills in infection control that meet or exceed CDC guidelines
  • Understand hazard communication/chemical safety requirements in the workplace
  • Receive training on the prevention of bloodborne disease in the healthcare environment
  • Know the best types of personal protective equipment (PPE) to use
  • Understand electrical safety and ionizing radiation safety requirements in the workplace
  • Be able to develop a workplace violence program
  • Understand how proper ventilation can make your working environment safer
  • Know medical and first aid requirements for your workplace
  • Understand fire safety and means of egress requirements in the workplace
  • Know how to react if an exposure incident occurs in your facility
  • Understand OSHA recordkeeping requirements
  • Understand the OSHA inspection process
