This course focuses on a counseling approach, Motivational Interviewing, which engages social worker and client in a collaborative conversation for strengthening a person’s motivation and commitment to change. Students will learn to strengthen an individual's motivation and movement toward a specific goal by helping resolve ambivalence and exploring the person's reasons for change.
