About This Course:
If your responsibilities require you to work within a hazardous waste site, OSHA requires you to be familiar with methods and procedures to protect yourself and others from the safety and health risks of hazardous materials. This course provides an opportunity for hands-on skills development and is designed to meet OSHA’s training requirements for the HAZWOPER standard — 29 CFR 1910.120 paragraphs (b) through (o) for hazardous waste site workers.
Who Should Attend:
This course is designed for environmental contractors and consultants, regulatory agency personnel, private-sector project managers routinely involved in the investigation and remediation of uncontrolled hazardous waste sites including Superfund sites, RCRA corrective action sites or voluntary clean-up sites.
Please note that this course is designed for hazardous waste site workers and NOT for emergency response personnel.
- Identify and practice methods and procedures for recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazardous substances
- Identify concepts, principles, and guidelines to properly protect personnel and the surrounding environment
- Select and use appropriate protective equipment including respirators, protective suits, boots and gloves
