Course Title
OSHA #7105: Evacuation and Emergency Planning

Course Description 
This course covers OSHA requirements for emergency action and fire protection plans. Course topics include purpose and requirements of emergency action and fire prevention plans, elements of emergency evacuation plans, and features of design and maintenance of emergency exit routes. Students will participate in workshops pertaining to the development of emergency action plans.

Course Objectives 
Upon course completion students will have the ability to list the elements of an emergency action plan and emergency evacuation floor plans, recognize violations of OSHA exit route requirements, determine whether their organization requires an emergency action plan, and develop and implement workplace emergency action and fire protection plans. Minimum student contact hours: 4

Course Materials and Required Software Applications
Participants will need to attend the course from either a home or office on a computer or laptop equipped with a Webcam and Microphone. Participants will need to have a stable Internet connection, and use either Chrome, Firefox or Safari as their browser for compatibility with Canvas.

  • Technical Setup: Requires a working webcam, microphone, stable internet connection, and Chrome, Firefox, or Safari browser.
  • Camera Policy: Video must remain on continuously throughout class to verify attendance and participation.
  • Prohibited Actions: Using multiple devices, taking photos, or recording any session.
  • Completion Criteria: Must attend 100% of Zoom sessions and finish all Canvas assignments to earn CEUs and an electronic certificate.
  • Course Access: Reminder email containing access instructions and an orientation video arrives roughly one week prior to start.
