Course Overview – What Will Be Covered
Leading Change equips educators to reimagine schools as spaces of equity, healing, and justice. Grounded in social justice and culturally responsive leadership, participants gain frameworks and strategies to build authentic relationships with students and families, rethink institutional policies, and examine mindsets that impact student success. Each module challenges educators to move beyond surface-level diversity work toward deep, transformative change centered on the most marginalized students.
Six Modules:

Reflexive Leadership

Servant Leadership

Racially Responsive Leadership

Transformative Leadership

Social Justice Leadership
Student Outcomes
By the end of this program, participants will:
Define and apply culturally responsive leadership to create authentic community connections
Identify and challenge deficit thinking, biases, and low expectations in practice and policy
Demonstrate servant leadership characteristics and reflexive self-examination
Examine and dismantle racist practices, policies, and structures
Develop transformative vision for organizational change
Construct a personal leadership philosophy grounded in social justice
Design action plans ensuring equity, diversity, and justice for all students
Lead with cultural humility, awareness, and commitment to liberation
Certificate Requirements & Meetings
Complete 80% of coursework for certificate. All assignments graded complete/incomplete. 2-3 optional virtual meetings via Zoom provide connection with Dr. Rema, program staff, and peers.
