Course Description
This course covers an introduction to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the OSH Act for owners and managers of small businesses. Course topics include an introduction to OSHA, OSHA Standards, the inspection process, implementing a safety and health program, worker training requirements and assistance available to small businesses.

Course Objectives
Upon course completion students will understand OSHA operations and procedures and how to work with OSHA to prevent or reduce injuries and illnesses in their workplace. Minimum student contact hours: 3.5

Eligibility: Limited to those living or working in OSHA's Chicago Region (MI, OH, IN, IL, WI, MN).
ID Requirement: Government-issued photo ID (federal, state, or local) required at Day 1 check-in.
Device Rules: Must use a desktop or laptop computer at a home or office (iPhones, iPads, and tablets are strictly prohibited).
Technical Setup: Requires a working webcam, microphone, stable internet connection, and Chrome, Firefox, or Safari browser.
Camera Policy: Video must remain on continuously throughout class to verify attendance and participation.
Prohibited Actions: Using multiple devices, taking photos, or recording any session.
Completion Criteria: Must attend 100% of Zoom sessions and finish all Canvas assignments to earn CEUs and an electronic certificate.
Course Access: Reminder email containing access instructions and an orientation video arrives roughly one week prior to start.
