Course Title
Arc Flash Awareness

Course Description
This course provides an introduction to arc flash awareness for non-qualified persons. Participants will learn to recognize potential arc flash hazards in the workplace, understand the risks associated with electrical hazards, and identify appropriate actions to help mitigate hazardous situations. The course also introduces the fundamentals of arc flash risk assessment and emphasizes the importance of hazard recognition in maintaining a safe work environment.

None.

Course Objectives
Upon course completion, students will be able to recognize potential arc flash hazards, understand the purpose of arc flash risk assessments, identify measures that help mitigate electrical hazards, and describe the role of non-qualified persons in maintaining a safe workplace around electrical equipment.

Participants attending virtually will need to attend the course from either a home or office on a computer or laptop equipped with a webcam and microphone. Participants will need a stable internet connection and should use either Chrome, Firefox, or Safari for compatibility with Canvas.

Notice

Please read:  This virtual course consists of live-online Zoom sessions, as well as pre- and post-session activities in Canvas, our online learning management system. Participants will need to attend the course from either a home or office on a computer or laptop equipped with a webcam and microphone. You must attend 100% of all Zoom sessions and complete all required online course assignments in order to receive an electronic certificate of completion and CEUs. Students will need to keep their video on throughout the class to confirm attendance and participation. Attending the course on an I-Phone, tablet or iPad is not allowed. You will need to have a stable Internet connection, and use either Chrome, Firefox or Safari as your browser for compatibility with Canvas. Use of multiple devices, taking photos or recording any part of the training sessions is not allowed. Approximately one week prior to the start date of the course, a reminder email with a short orientation video and instructions for course access will be sent to you via email.
